Mr. Zaorui Guo (D3), Lecturer Minhyeok Lee, and Professor Yuji Suzuki received the First Prize for Best Paper Award at the 3rd Asian Conference on Thermal Sciences (ACTS 2024) on June 26th, 2024. This award was presented to only two papers out of 565 general presentations.

Research title: Resistance-Based MEMS Sensor for Liquid Film Thickness Measurement in Microchannel

In this research, a resistance-based liquid film thickness sensor was newly designed based on an analytical model, and its prototype was microfabricated using Micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS) technologies. The performance evaluation showed that the resistances of liquid films as thin as 5 µm could be accurately measured using a precisely calibrated test bench.
